Adapting to Business Operations in 2025
Jason WrightShare
Business operations in 2025 are going to be fascinating, to say the least. Political and economic strife, along with various global challenges, will continue to shape our lives for decades to come. It's no longer enough to sit back, not vote, or not care. Complacency, as someone once said, is a killer. We get too comfortable doing the same things every day, and that comfort can be our downfall.
Now, with the rapid push to implement AI tools for daily tasks, it’s more important than ever to rethink how your organization approaches people management, marketing, and everyday operations. Agencies and companies are rapidly building out AI strategies, implementing tools to replace employees, and creating complex workflows to scale content production. If you want to be successful in 2025 and beyond, adapting to these new technologies is crucial.
Technology is constantly evolving. Right now, we’re deep in the mobile phone and tablet era, but wearables are right around the corner. Sure, wearables are already part of the gaming world and some productivity tools, but they're about to become much bigger. The Apple Vision Pro, for example, didn’t quite hit the mark due to its high price and the awkwardness of using a headset for everything. But make no mistake—wearables are a big part of our future.
Within the next decade, we’ll likely be using wearables to replace some of our phones' functions. They could even take over our productivity needs, replacing monitors in offices. Combine these hardware advancements with AI-driven workflow enhancements, and we're stepping into a new era of business unlike anything we've seen before.
Preparing for 2025 and Beyond
So, how do you prepare for 2025 and beyond? Let’s break it down:
1. Research AI Tools & Agents
Start looking into AI tools and agents you might use in your business or daily productivity. Many of these tools are designed to replace repetitive, mundane tasks, allowing businesses to reduce costs and streamline processes. Even if you’re not ready to adopt them, staying informed about what's available is essential.
According to McKinsey, AI has the potential to automate about 60% of all occupations by at least 30% of their tasks (source).
2. Elevate Your Work with New Tools
Think about how AI tools could enhance your work, creativity, sales process, or even administrative tasks. There’s a lot in business that’s pretty boring—like drafting emails, creating checklists, or writing handbooks. AI can handle these things so you can focus on bigger challenges facing your business.
By 2025, it’s estimated that the global AI market will surpass $190 billion, highlighting the tremendous investment going into these technologies (source).
3. Leverage AI for More Value
Find ways to enhance the products and services you already offer by harnessing AI productivity. For example, AI agents can produce SEO audits, generate marketing strategy ideas, prepare proposals, or even create email drip campaigns. These tools can help you build out new marketing channels you may not have considered before.
What’s more, you can train these agents to understand your tone—whether you want something professional or laid-back—and how technically deep to go. As these advancements continue, it will be harder to tell whether content was created by human hands or prompted by AI.
In a recent study, 45% of executives report that AI technologies are critical for their business operations (source).
4. Measure & Repeat
Not all tools will be useful right away. Right now, we’re probably over-indexing on AI, using generative tools to create art, images, content, videos, and all kinds of other media. While that’s exciting and cost-effective, we’re likely to find a balance between user-generated and AI-generated content.
The point is, technology will keep evolving. We get excited about new tools and hardware, use them for a while, they evolve, and then something else comes along. But you need to understand the power of AI and what it can do for you today so you’re not left behind when it takes over tasks that once required entire teams.
Stay Positive & Keep Moving Forward
This can all be pretty overwhelming. It’s okay to feel uncomfortable and even a little scared. Change always feels that way. But humanity always finds a way to create new opportunities. This trend will continue, and it’s up to us to find those opportunities and use AI in a responsible way to build a better future.
