theEarth Magazine, A Passion Project Inspired by David Carson
While I was studying David Carson and print design, I found myself obsessed with simple one-page layouts devoid of color. I played with shapes and typography to develop interesting covers for my faux magazine.
Each week I would produce a new cover to span 12 months. It was both a design and content challenge. In this process I discovered the importance of properly organizing work (because I lost files) into folders within folders.
This work greatly expanded my knowledge of the software (InDesign) which led me to a paid position at Clark College working as a tutor.

I’d love to hear about your project, if you’d be so kind to share your story.
